Hello Megan,

I would love a copy of your octopus piece. Octopuses are fascinating and beautiful creatures. They are graceful underwater, apparently also quite intelligent. Whenever I go to an aquarium I always head to the octupus tank. Well okay truth be told jellyfish are pretty sweet too. When I was looking up the proper way to pluralize octopus I learned they have three hearts!!!

I recently discovered your art and blog, I initially started looking through it for your bead work but discovered all sorts of great and fun things. You are talented and very imaginative. Thanks for taking the time and effort to show your stuff in the blog :-)

That particular octopus is pinky red, and I love just about anything in that color, whether in the sea or on land.

I like octopusses because they're so gosh darn smart! When I was in high school I volunteered at the Art Feiro Marine Science Lab teaching 2nd and 5th graders about marine sciences. We had a resident octopus in the main viewing area.

Aside from being a place that taught children, the marine lab was just that: A place where scientists studied various aquatic life native to the pacific northwest.

At one point, the scientists couldn't figure out why their fish were disappearing. So, they set up a camera and what did they discover? At night, she would open her tank, glide across the floor and up the other tanks and go fishing. Then she'd put herself back in her tank like nothing happened! She was brilliant.

It's my favorite octopus story because I was volunteering there at the time and I got to see her in person.
