goodness. what a long day. i probably should have had lunch before 4:45. i was writing captions for a book. i think i did excellently for draft 1. but i also accidentally scratched a frame and now it has to be redone and i got really annoyed with myself!
anyway, came home and finished this drawing i have been working on.
heron moon
pen and ink on a page from french made easy, copyright 1939. this is a blank page but there is french on the back.
it is in my Etsy Shop.
i need to either reduce my expenses by about $2200 this year (at least) or increase my income that much.
should i dig out the book i was writing on making beaded dolls and finish it?
should i offer it either on CD or one of those sites where they print per request?
is this something any of you would be interested in? a cd or book of my doll making ideas? with lots of photos, patterns, and how-tos?

i worked on these today. i actually started them last fall. they are acrylic and ink on canvas. it's hard to take good pictures, i will have to try again.
i am starting to feel the urge to paint. acrylic, i mean.
i wish i had more space. though sometimes i put old towels on the bed and paint on there. (it is a full.) it must be lovely to have a big room. but one can't use that as an excuse not to do things. it's acrylic so it needs minimal ventilation, unlike oils which really do have more specific requirements in terms of working space. and of course i could use more energy. and light, i could use light. maybe i should go to ghost ranch. i am sure the light there is lovely. i have another violin to paint. this picture is my 1st one. i have been putting off the sanding. it's silly i dread it but i got a pinched nerve last time i did much sanding. i probably sanded the last one more than i needed to.
picture: painted 3/4 size violin.

i am knitting something green. i can't say what right now - i will tell you later. well, it's sort of green. sort of forest-y. it has some gold and copper, too. it's been fun to knit. just 2x2 rib but it does not get boring because i keep changing yarns. usually i knit the ends in, which is nice.
another little drawing on scrapbook paper.
i feel slightly more human. i even left the house twice yesterday - how novel. and i also watched buffy the vampire slayer and read about geisha.

just a little drawing i did these evening. some of the lines on the scrapbook paper did not scan well, but you get the idea.
in my teen years, i drew dozens of brilliantly colored dragons, using prismacolor pencils. this is one.
i have been lying in bed for over a week with the flu / secondary infection and listening to audio books while i draw a little. this was created under the influence of these audio books:
swiftly tilting planet, an acceptable time, and wrinkle in time. all written by madeline l'engle. next up: many waters by madeline l'engle.
Pitt pens, size S and B
inspired by the book: Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, which I recently read. Also inspired by traditional Japanese art and woodcuts.
