dormice sleep for up to 6 months a year, or even longer if the weather is cool. occasionally they may wake up for a little snack and then it's back to bed. i intend to apply for dormouse status. i believe october to march would be sufficient for my purposes. well, maybe october to april.

Wikipedia is fun... it adds:
"The edible species was considered a delicacy in ancient Rome, either as a savoury appetizer or as a dessert (dipped in honey and poppy seeds)..."
So, you've resorted to appetizer status...I agree with you about the months between October and April. I would like to hibernate in a tropical island paradise through the winter months. I am doing my own form of hibernating here in Colorado now that I think of it...
Hey Camilla... I'm Megan's (fraternal!) twin, and live in Colorado too. They say we may have another snow by Sunday... but it's been so beautiful this week!
