but now i am home in my messy little nest - i really should vacuum - with my yarn and my paints and my pens. and that makes me happy.

the last week has been so busy and tiring. in 6 days i made 5 trips to tacoma for inventory. the warehouses are dirty and musty and one of the locations is COLD. though we usually do inventory in january and i am finding it much better in June. got a lot done, though. mostly in the evenings i have been too tired to do much other than read, but i have drawn a bit. you can see this better + 2 others on flickr by clicking on the thumbnail. also they are on etsy.

this is another piece I recently finished, based on a Jane Thornley pattern. I knit it over a year or so, though it was really not too time consuming for a coat! I used a lot of worsted weight yarns. I had a few yarns that were my base - some Lorna's Laces Shepard Worsted and some Manos - and i added various textured yarns in with that, ribbon yarns, etc. It was a lot of fun to knit! I like doing things where I can play with colors, it's like painting with yarn.

this is picture of me modeling one of my most recent knit creations, Frond. It is based on a pattern by Jane Thornley. Jane's patterns are quite different than what most knitters are used to - more loose recipes. but if you want to try Frond and get confused you can ask me or join the Jane Thornley group on Ravely.

I am all about the green these days,
Speaking of green, yesterday Jesse and I drove up to Snoqualmie Falls. It was raining, but there is so much wet mist in the air at the falls that it was hard to tell. Beautiful drop of 268 feet. I think I might need to do some waterfal inspired art.
